Lately, I’ve noticed a lot of issues with my garmin forerunner 305. I’ve been having problems getting a signal, and at times have lost the signal mid-run. When that happens, it’s been reestablishing only to have the signal lost again.

GPS
The device has always worked great in the past, and I’ve usually been able to get a signal in a few seconds. Most of the time with an accuracy of at least 20 feet. To lose a signal mid-run never happened before recently, and it’s been happening on my regular routes.
I wouldn’t normally mention this. Initially, I thought it was my device being old and becoming quirky. But, my navigation system in my car has also been having weird signal problems and that has never happened before.
I’m wondering if this is just me or if others are having similar issues with GPS.

YES, my ancient 201 is having problems lately too. (the old black rectangular shaped contraption) I am losing signal in places where I never have before. I was wondering if my Garmin is getting too old. When it gets signal back it draws a straight line from where it lost signal to where it picked it up again. Last week it was without signal for over a mile and I didn’t even realize it until I saw the mileage at the end of my run. When I looked at the run on the map on Garmin connect it looked like I had run right across the middle a long oval shaped lake when in fact I ran a trail around it. It’s a route I run all the time so I know the mileage.
Weird.

I had the 301, and it had that problem a bit too. I reflashed it / reset it with the latest software and that seems to have cleared it up. I kept it for another year (without further issue), but have since upgraded to the 405.
